Students come from all branches of engineering, from civil to manufacturing to chemical, and may also come from other highly technical fields, but have similar career goals. Applicants are often senior engineers looking to move up from technical roles, although some are already team leaders or senior engineering positions involving less technical work.

All candidates for the M.Eng.EM have a background in science, engineering, mathematics or technology that allows them to meet the course requirements.
