Investigation is one of the ways we try to find the truth. It is based on the firm assumption that the world is a cosmos that has causes and is governed by forces and relationships that can be expressed as laws and principles. Discovering these controls of nature gives us license to look for ways to control our environment.
Unfortunately, available research methods are far from perfect. So far, humanity, in its slow evolution towards civilization, has discovered only three fundamental methods of seeking the authority of truth, logic and controlled observation. Until about 300 years ago, attempts to discover the truth relied heavily on the use of authority and logic. Since then, researchers have placed more emphasis on controlled observation backed by mathematical logic.
Clarity is the most important quality in any research topic. The topic should be clear so that others can easily understand the nature of your research. The research topic should have a unique definition so that people do not confuse them. The subject must be clear in your mind so that you can do it correctly. The research topic must be unambiguous. Clarity also means that the research topic must be directional and must define the overall research methodology.
A well-defined and well-written research topic is half a guarantee for successful research. Sometimes researchers express the research topic in a way that gives them a dual perspective.
The research topic must be well defined, well written and easy to understand. it should make sense. When the research topic is not well defined, the researcher cannot formulate the correct objectives and the correct hypotheses. This confusion increases as the investigation progresses. Characteristics of a good researcher:
They ask questions. An unquenchable thirst for knowledge is what sets the best apart from the rest. Good researchers always strive to learn more, not just about their own field, but about other fields as well. The world around us is fascinating, be it the physics behind how light is refracted or the anthropological constructions of our society. A good seeker continues to explore the world and continues to search for answers.
They are looking for connections. Information is useless without interpretation. Finding meaning in our observations and data is what drives research. Good researchers look at data from all angles and look for patterns. They explore cause and effect and unravel the intricate web that connects everyday phenomena. And then step forward to ask, “What’s the big picture?” How will research evolve in the future? »
